AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :
To review transport networks and to build on them
To review Private Public Partnerships in transport networks
To be a platform to promote the development corridors
To promote, make aware and drive forward the green agenda in all African countries
To promote the cross-border transport arteries – road, rail, air and ports
To identify the vital role of infrastructure, communication and power in the areas of transport networks
To advance the development of national action plans
To identify ways of mobilising resources to rapidly improve transportation infrastructure

PROPOSED FOCUSED PARALLELL SESSIONS :
The broad sweep of the plenary presentations will be followed by professionally facilitated smaller groups — parallel sessions — offering different approaches to specific sectors of the Summit, adding detail to the Summit and broadening the outcomes.
SESSION ONE :
This session will cover in detail the basic areas of transport – Road, Rail, Ports & Harbours and Air. Experts will speak on infrastructure, finance, safety and intelligence systems. Case studies will be discussed and new opportunities for trade, investment and future development will be identified
SESSION TWO :
This session will cover in detail areas affected by and influenced by transport networks – Logistics, Supply Chain, Energy, ICT,Telecommunications and Spatial Development Initiative (SDI’S). Experts will speak on infrastructure, finance and the green agenda. Case studies will be discussed and new opportunities for trade, investment and future development will be identified.
