The White House has announced the G8 Summit will be moved to Camp David. The NATO Summit will remain in Chicago and will be May 20-21. Camp David is a remote military installation located in the state of Maryland. The compound is a historic retreat for US Presidents and their guests.
While the NATO Summit is in itself a very important event, the seriousness of what faces Chicago has now become much more manageable. In this surprising turn of events, protesters, businesses, and local government all seem in sync toward continued preparation, if not to be scaled much differently.
