The two-week training course will held in Brazzaville, Congo, from 4-15 December 2006 for journalists from Burundi, Chad, Congo, DRC, Gabon and Rwanda.
The objectives of the training are :
To create an understanding of the potential and importance of training to increase the quality and effectiveness of media organisations in the light of growing international competition and technical innovation.
To develop a vision on the organisational and managerial skills needed to enable media organisations to reap full benefit from their training activities as well as ideas on how this can be achieved.
To impart the electronic media and production skills in radio and television needed for the development and implementation of training activities.
To develop skills and techniques for the identification of training needs among existing staff groups, including technical staff, journalists, program-makers, and managers.
To develop the skills needed for the design, organisation, supervision, evaluation and delivery of training activities.
The course contents include :
Identification of training needs
Defining learning objectives
Design of course concepts based on learning objectives
Use of methods and media
Communications skills
Analytical skills
Evaluation techniques and feedback.
