In line with the recommendations emanating from the Communications and Advocacy workshop held in Accra, Ghana in May 2007, the NEPAD Secretariat is pleased to announce that it has secured a TV slot every Wednesday, between 20:00 and 21:00, on SABC Africa.

Called African Views it is a live, phone-in programme, which features panel discussions on various topics around current development initiatives.

Prof. Firmino Mucavele, Chief Executive NEPAD Secretariat, was the first to be featured on African Views on 29 August 2007, accompanied on the panel by Dr Faustin Moape, AU/NEPAD Senior Agriculture Policy Advisor.

The NEPAD Secretariat has also managed to secure a brief slot every Thursday morning, during the interview-based programme called 180 Degrees.

On Wednesday 12 September, the panel to be featured on African Views will comprise of Dr Abdoulie Janneh, Executive Secretary, Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Dr Hesphina Rukato, Deputy CEO NEPAD Secretariat, and a representative from the African Capacity Building Foundation. The topic of discussion will centre on capacity development challenges in Africa.

The interview on 180 Degrees on Thursday 13 September, will feature Ms Bibi Giyose, advisor on agriculture to the NEPAD Secretariat, specialising in nutrition.
