A group of 20 trainee diplomats who will soon be placed in South African missions abroad recently visited the NEPAD Secretariat, where they were welcomed by the Chief Executive, Prof. Firmino Mucavele.
After addressing the trainees on the NEPAD vision and its implementation, Professor Mucavele answered questions. Asked what is meant by a NEPAD project, he said : “Any project that embodies the values of self reliance, ownership and partnership is a NEPAD project”.
He stressed that NEPAD is playing a major role in Africa’s economic renewal and told the trainees that when they are placed in their respective countries, they will not only be representing South Africa, but the entire African continent. Source : NEPAD, 2 novembre 2007
