Technical aid corps proposed to assist Africa’s farmers
The establishment of a pool of agricultural expertise from which African countries can draw assistance was one of the objectives of a summit held in Abuja, Nigeria from 4-7 December 2006 to address food security problems in Africa.
"I think this is one of the major challenges that we would like to see addressed," said Prof. Richard Mkandawire, NEPAD agriculture advisor.
