A capacity-building workshop for African journalists, organised jointly by the NEPAD Secretariat and the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GTZ), is being held in Accra, Ghana, on 5-6 May 2007.

Journalists from Algeria, Botswana, Gabon, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa are expected to take part.

The workshop, part of NEPAD’s continent-wide communications policy to publicise its activities, will be followed by a conference on the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) from 8-10 May which will discuss “Africa’s bold march to capture the 21st century – the role of the APRM”.

A further training session for journalists will be held during the 7th ordinary session of the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, South Africa, from 7-18 May 2007. Source : NEPAD - april 30, 2007
